Becoming a Patient at Mayo Clinic in Rochester
Thousands of patients come to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., each day for diagnosis or treatment of a medical problem. Patients can make their own appointments or be referred by a physician.
Most patients are treated on an outpatient basis, meaning their evaluation, tests and treatments are done in the clinic, and they return to their home or lodging at the end of the day.
Facilities
The Mayo Clinic downtown campus comprises about 30 buildings and five parking ramps. (See campus maps.) Outpatients are seen in several locations, including the Mayo, Gonda, Baldwin and Hilton buildings.
Patients who require inpatient care are hospitalized in Rochester Methodist Hospital downtown, Saint Marys Hospital, west of the downtown campus, or Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital, within Saint Marys.
